As of Sept 1 Anna-Marie Vilamovska is the new BOA Executive Director. Her background includes high-level policy, corporate and international experience. We have previously worked with her on the “Приложен програмист / Applied Developer” initiative, which she co-led in 2017 as one most successful public-private partnerships in education – It Talent Hub: Applied IT Developer 2017 – 2020”. Anna-Marie Vilamovska holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from RAND Graduate School (CA, USA), and retrospectively was Secretary for Innovation Policy to Bulgaria’s President Rosen Plevneliev (2012-2017), RAND Corporation Economist (2005-2010, USA & Europe), World Bank Economist (2000 – 2005, D.C.) focusing on financial modelling, technology and value-added in healthcare and education forecasting.
In 2015 the Financial Times, Visegrad Fund, Google and ResPublica listed her as one of the NewEurope100 outstanding individuals leading world-class innovation from CEE. In 2016 Anna-Marie received the Polish Republic’s Commodore’s Crest state insignia for her contribution to creating a connected innovative Europe. Anna-Marie represents Bulgaria at the EC Member States Board on Digital Entrepreneurship, is an individual member of the Advisory Council on the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovation and Science Program of the EC and is one of the national leads in the EC eSkills and Digital Entrepreneurship Campaigns.
Anna-Marie is founder and partner at Working Ideas – is an innovation strategy design consulting company focused on creating issue-focused public-private partnerships. Under her company, she structured and let the first phase of “It Talent Hub: Applied IT Developer 2017 – 2020” joining the efforts of BOA, BASSCOM, BAIT, IT Cluster Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian Ministry of Education. The program is now implemented in more than Bulgarian 40 secondary schools.
